Greetings 2021

Greetings 2021

On behalf of AFCEN, I wish you a happy New Year 2021

I was appointed President of AFCEN in December 2020; on this occasion, I would like to thank all AFCEN’s experts and active members for their commitment to this association which, for more than 40 years now, has been upholding its values of Collaboration, Expertise and Accountability for the benefit of the nuclear industry.

The 2020 worldwide health context has disrupted our lives; AFCEN has managed to keep up with its program of activities, maintaining the volume of work in the subcommittees, remotely organizing its annual day for the first time and supporting its training partners in delivering their first digital training courses.

However, the year 2020 is ending with the publication of 5 editions of codes: two major editions of the RCC-CW (civil works) and RCC-F (fire) codes and three expanded editions of the RCC-M (mechanical), RSE-M (in-service inspection) and RCC-C (fuel) codes.

In 2020, AFCEN continued its international partnership policy in China, in the UK and in Europe to expand the Experience Feedback from Users of AFCEN codes and contribute to NPP safety with industrial solutions. My thanks go to everybody for these successes.

In 2021, AFCEN will maintain its publication, training policy and international partnerships, AFCEN will extend its participation in the activities of GIFEN and in the projects implemented as part of the Excell plan, with the objective that the codes are better known and understood by the nuclear industry, and finally adopted.

I look forward to seeing you at the next AFCEN digital conference on March 23-24 and, once again, wish you a wonderful 2021.
